NFL asks police to watch Goodell's Maine house (AFP)

New York (AFP) - In the wake of NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's decision to uphold a four-game suspension of New England Patriots star Tom Brady, the league has asked police to watch Goodell's home in the region.

Police in Scarborough, Maine, said they were contacted by the NFL over security concerns for Goodell's $6.5 million (6 million euro) house after Goodell rejected Brady's appeal of his ban stemming from the "Deflategate" scandal.

"They did reach out and let us know about the decision and that it might not be popular," Scarborough Police Chief Robbie Moulton told the Portland Press Herald.
