Brian Daboll worked with Mac Jones for only one season at Alabama. In 2017, Daboll served as the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator while Jones was a redshirt-freshman quarterback on the team that won the CFP national-championship for that season.
After his only season on Nick Saban’s Alabama coaching staff, Daboll left to become the offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills, which provided the opportunity to get reacquainted in 2021 with Jones, the rookie quarterback for AFC East rival New England.
“Mac was a good player,” Daboll said during a Tuesday press conference at the NFL Scouting Combine in his new role as the head coach of the New York Giants.
