On Wednesday the New England Revolution announced that Alexander Buttner and the club have mutually agreed to part ways.
The left back made 17 appearances in 2020 for the Revs and racked up three assists for New England.
Towards the end of the season, Buttner ended up losing his spot in the starting lineup partly due to him being forced to miss time after contracting COVID-19. His last appearance for the club was on November 8th when the Revs lost to the Philadelphia Union 2-0.
DeJuan Jones took over the starting left back role and didn’t look back.
