FOXBOROUGH — When the Patriots passed on Marvin Jones, Mohamed Sanu and Rishard Matthews in free agency, options at receiver appeared to be limited.
The team had already cut Brandon LaFell, and most of the top remaining wideouts lacked proven NFL success.
Enter Chris Hogan, who signed with the Pats as a restricted free agent after three seasons in Buffalo.
Hogan came to New England with less than 1,000 career receiving yards. He shined throughout training camp and made an impact in the team's Week 1 win at Arizona, beating cornerback Brandon Williams deep for a 37-yard touchdown on the opening drive.
