Hal Bent: I have no problem with no backup quarterback for one game. If Brissett and Jimmy Garoppolo are both out it won’t matter if it is T.J.Yates or Edelman behind center because the offense would be running the ball every play anyways. I would add that having Edelman and James White practice some WildCat formations this week cannot hurt anyway.
James Coughlin: From an entertainment perspective I think it’s great. I’ll be honest, while I don’t like the idea of hoping for injuries, the novelty of Edelman running around for even a series is kind of cool.
