New England Patriots transactions: Defensive tackle Casey Walker re-signed

FOXBOROUGH — A familiar face returns to Gillette Stadium, as the New England Patriots have brought back defensive tackle Casey Walker, a 340-pound run-stuffer who was with the team during the 2014 season.

Walker was recently released by Baltimore.

He was signed off the Panthers' practice squad a year ago and later released to make room for LeGarrette Blount. When the Pats cut him, the Ravens claimed him off waivers.

The Patriots were without defensive tackles Sealver Siliga, Alan Branch, Chris Jones and Joe Vellano in their preseason opener. Siliga has been at all practices, though, so there doesn't appear to be much of a concern there.
