The Patriots added some depth to their roster on Monday afternoon.
New England signed Giovanni Ricci to a futures contract, and the 28-year-old tight end already has a couple connections in Foxborough. Ricci spent last summer in Cleveland — where Mike Vrabel was a consultant — before he was waived due to an injury. Vrabel began his time with the Browns working specifically with tight ends, so he knows what Ricci brings to the table.
Prior to his stint in Cleveland, Ricci spent four seasons with the Panthers, where Ben McAdoo was offensive coordinator in 2022.
