In possible need of a pass-catching back following Dion Lewis' season-ending ACL tear, the New England Patriots worked out free agent running back Kendall Hunter Friday, according to ESPN's Field Yates.
Hunter, a 5-foot-7 scatback, showed promise early in his career, but has had terrible luck with injuries.
In 2012, Hunter averaged 5.2 yards per carry for San Francisco. His season, however, was cut short with a torn Achilles. Hunter rebounded to carry 78 times for 358 yards in 2013, and then suffered a torn ACL on the second day of training camp in 2014.
