CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Barring a trade, it's all but guaranteed that either Tyler Gaffney or D.J. Foster will make the Patriots' initial 53-man roster.
And if the Pats decide to move on from Brandon Bolden, entering his fifth year with the team, it's possible that both Gaffney and Foster will make it.
Both players looked good Friday night in Carolina, as Gaffney turned in his best performance of the preseason. Foster, the undrafted rookie out of Arizona State, performed well in his Patriots debut, totaling 42 yards on five touches. He played against backups, but Foster's athleticism and instinct stood out.
