New England Patriots running backs: Bishop Sankey hopes to impress in practice and 'slowly move up'

FOXBOROUGH — Former second-round pick Bishop Sankey may have been cut by the Titans after two seasons, but you can't say he didn't make the most of his opportunities this summer.

Sankey's first carry of the 2016 preseason: A play in which he reversed course in the backfield, cut it back, shed a would-be tackler at the second level, and sprinted 41 yards to the endzone.

Sankey finished the preseason with 13 carries for 79 yards. The per carry stats are fine, but the limited number of carries were an indication of where Sankey stood on the depth chart.
