Jonas Gray's tenure with the New England Patriots may have ended a week earlier if the Pats had been able to pry a certain running back away from the NFC champs.
According to a recent Buffalo News story, two teams reached out to veteran running back Fred Jackson within an hour of his Aug. 31 release: The Seattle Seahawks, who he signed with Sunday, and the defending Super Bowl champion Patriots.
