New England Patriots place Jordan Thomas on COVID-19 reserve list ahead of Buffalo Bills game

The Patriots have placed a second player on the COVID-19 reserve list ahead of the Bills game.

Defensive tackle Isaiah Mack landed on the list on Christmas Day, and now tight end Jordan Thomas has joined him. Both either tested positive for the virus or had a close contact with someone who did, so neither will play on Monday Night Football.

The Patriots have placed 11 players on the list over the course of the season — Cam Newton, Stephon Gilmore, Sony Michel, Shaq Mason, James Ferentz, Bill Murray, Byron Cowart, Derek Rivers and Julian Edelman — and had two games postponed because of outbreaks.
