The Patriots will be missing one of their special teams standouts until Week 7 at the earliest.
The team placed Brandon King on the PUP/reserve list on Tuesday afternoon, which means he’ll be sidelined at least the first six weeks of the season. King won’t count against the roster limit until he’s activated.
The core special teamer is still recovering from a torn quadricep that he suffered in a preseason game last August. King is still under contract through the 2021 season.
Though college conferences have been postponing seasons, the NFL is still marching full steam ahead.
