As the season opener approaches, the New England Patriots have named their captains for 2015.
I like that group, particularly the selections of Ryan Wendell, Nate Solder, and Rob Ninkovich, who are all first-time captains. Brady, Slater, Mayo and McCourty are kind of obvious choices, so I won’t elaborate much on them. We all know that Brady is one of the all-time great leaders in NFL history, and D-Mac and Mayo have been the heart of this defense over the last few seasons.
However seeing Solder, Ninkovich and Wendell get some recognition among teammates is good to see.
