Mike Vrabel said he expected the Patriots to be aggressive in free agency.
On Day 1, of the NFL’s legal tampering process, the Patriots were just that. According to the NFL Network, the Patriots are landing one of the top free agents on the open market, signing defensive tackle Milton Williams to a multi-year contract. Sports illustrated reports it’s a 4-year, $104 million deal.
This news was surprising as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reproted that Williams was finalizing a multi-year deal with the Carolina Panthers around 1:30 p.m. However, nearly 45 minutes later, the Patriots struck and landed their top target in free agency.
