As Ben Watson held an event to pray at Boston Common, a former teammate was one of the hundreds in attendance.
Ja’Whaun Bentley, a third-year linebacker, said it Watson’s call for prayer and healing was a rejuvenating moment in the fight for equality.
“Obviously with the challenge we’re experiencing right now, dealing with trying to address police brutality as well as systemic racism that’s going on in our area, a lot of people are working hard,” Bentley said on a video call Wednesday afternoon. “Whether it’s donating or protesting, a lot of different ways they want to make an impact.
