The New England Patriots signed free agent defensive tackle Markus Kuhn Thursday, adding depth to the interior defensive line.
Kuhn, 29, has played four seasons with the Giants. He made eight starts a year ago and appeared in 10 games.
He joins Sebastian Vollmer as New England's second German-born player.
According to NJ.com's Jordan Raanan, the Giants made an offer to keep Kuhn, but he elected to move on.
At 6-foot-4, 303 pounds, Kuhn figures as a backup to Malcom Brown, Terrance Knighton and Alan Branch. He'll likely compete for a roster spot.
