The New England Patriots had an opportunity to clinch the number one seed with a win today, but they couldn’t get the job done, as they fell to the New York Jets 26-20 in overtime. As expected, it was a tough battle, especially since the Patriots were without a bunch of key players coming into this game.
New York dominated the first half, but only came away with a 10-3 lead, then after a Darrelle Revis pick to start the third quarter, the Jets went right down the field to stretch the lead to 17-3 with a Brandon Marshall touchdown.
