New England Patriots fullback Danny Vitale dedicated an intense workout Monday (Memorial Day) to Lt. Michael P. Murphy.
Vitale — who signed with the Patriots in March — wore a 20-pound vest during the workout, which included two one-mile runs, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups and 300 squats, according to a tweet from the National Football League Players’ Association.
The fullback is holding a T-shirt ‘Murph Challenge’ in one of the photos that the NFLPA tweeted.
Lt. Michael P. Murphy received a Medal of Honor after dying in combat at 29 years old June 28, 2005, in Afghanistan, per NAVY.
