The Patriots will open their offseason program Monday, and they'll do so without their first-round pick from two years ago.
Defensive tackle Dominique Easley, cut Wednesday afternoon, will go down as massive swing and miss for the Pats, who, like all NFL teams, occasionally screw up in the draft. The difference between the Patriots and most other franchises is that they can get by with a few misses, because they have Tom Brady and, for whatever reason, they find guys like Malcolm Butler and Dion Lewis far more often than other teams do. There are rarely glaring holes on the Pats' roster.
