Feb. 18—New England played a non-regional matchup against Flasher at home Thursday night. It ended as a loss for the Tigers (2-7, 5-12), but they did not leave empty-handed, acknowledging the commitment needed to battle for all four quarters against a tough opponent. The Bulldogs (7-2, 15-3) are third in Region 5 behind two undefeated teams in the region.
Going into the game, there were several disadvantages that New England recognized that they would have to overcome. The acuity of Flasher sharpshooter sophomore guard Javin Friesz, the height of players, and the speed on their defense.
"Number 13 (Friesz) is a good player," New England head coach Kaine Hanson said.
