Following an eventful Sunday, Patriots fans have a lot to take in. The dominant story took place during the pregame, when more than a dozen players either took a knee during the national anthem or locked arms in solidarity. On the field, New England staged a dramatic comeback on the team’s final drive to take the lead, and pull out a 36-33 win over the Texans.
Former Patriot lineman Matt Light was “ashamed” to see members of the team kneeling during the anthem: Matt Light, who played for the Patriots from 2001-2011 and helped the team win three Super Bowls, told Karen Guregian of the the Boston Herald that he did not take issue with fans booing Patriots players for taking a knee during the national anthem on Sunday.
