FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- When the New England Patriots released sub-rushing defensive tackle Dominique Easley on Wednesday, one line of thinking was that it opened the door for fourth-year player Chris Jones to assume that role.
That thought lasted two days, as Jones was waived on Friday, along with run-stuffing nose tackle Ishmaa'ily Kitchen.
Jones won over the coaching staff with his toughness after he was claimed on waivers after the first week of the 2013 season. He played in 28 games with 23 starts over two seasons, totaling 83 tackles and nine tackles.
