New England’s extended search for a proven playmaker came to a close this week, with the Patriots signing veteran wideout Stefon Diggs to a three-year contract worth up to $69 million.
Even with Diggs’ age (31) and the fact that he’s working his way back from a torn ACL, the former All-Pro wideout’s resume and competitive drive was enough to entice Mike Vrabel and the Patriots to hand him a contract this spring.
“Yeah, just trying to make sure we’re supporting Drake and supporting the football team,” Vrabel told former Patriots pass rusher Chris Long about Diggs on the “Green Light” Podcast.
