The youthful New England Patriots are asking players to commit more of themselves.
The fact that needs to be stressed by coaches and veteran players seven games into the season all but confirms the group didn’t fully commit itself previously. The collective buy-in was not there the first two months of the season.
Patriots offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt told reporters at Gillette Stadium on Thursday the team held a meeting “demanding” more from players in every facet. Players taking a more professional approach was among the topics, Van Pelt said.
“We had a really great team meeting this morning where that was pointed out,” Van Pelt told reporters, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss.
