Matthew Stafford told Lions he’d go anywhere except to New England Patriots (report)

Apparently Matthew Stafford isn’t too fond of Foxborough.

According to NBC Sports Boston’s Tom Curran, Stafford told the Lions they could trade him anywhere other than New England. Curran didn’t offer a specific reason why, but said Stafford made it clear the Patriots were the one team he’d veto a deal to.

Ultimately, the Rams were winners of the Stafford sweepstakes and the Lions landed a massive haul. The quarterback was dealt to Los Angeles for two first-round picks, a third-rounder and Jared Goff. It would have been an awfully high price for the Patriots to pay as they try to rebuild on the fly.
