FOXBOROUGH — For the second straight week, New England Patriots special teams proved costly.
In Denver, a Chris Harper muffed punt shifted the momentum of the game, setting the Broncos up deep in Pats' territory.
On Sunday against the Eagles, the special teams unit allowed two touchdowns -- one on a blocked punt to close the first half, and the other on a Darren Sproles 83-yard punt return.
Special teams captain Matthew Slater called the performance "very disappointing."
"We put a lot of time into (special teams) and we have a lot of guys that take a lot of pride in it," Slater said.
