Matt Light said he was disappointed by the backlash he received from former teammates concerning his remarks aimed at the 16 Patriots who kneeled during the national anthem Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
Light told the Herald after the game he was “ashamed” to be a Patriot after witnessing the protest. The former left tackle considers kneeling for the anthem wrong.
In a conversation Tuesday night with the Herald, he indicated criticism from former teammates was off base because they failed to get all of the details.
“Look, my viewpoint, I’m very strong, I’m very opinionated. I believe in what I believe in.
