FOXBOROUGH — With Dont’a Hightower still undecided about his future, there has seemingly been a leadership void in the middle of the New England Patriots defense.
Enter Ja’Whaun Bentley.
“I’m not gonna lie, Bent is our leader,” Matt Judon said. “We all rally behind him. That is who our leader is.”
Bentley was a team captain during the 2020 season with Hightower out, and for three seasons at Purdue.
The former fifth-round draft pick is entering his fifth year in New England and is coming off his best statistical season in 2021, finishing with 109 total tackles and three forced fumbles.
