The Patriots claimed Martellus Bennett on waivers Thursday afternoon after the Packers released the tight end due to “failure to disclose a physical condition.”
Although Green Bay has not revealed more information, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport relayed that Bennett has a torn rotator cuff. According to Rapoport, the 30-year-old could try to play through the injury, but should his efforts be unsuccessful, New England could then put him on injured reserve.
