Marshall passes Toon for Jets' reception record

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Brandon Marshall caught a pass in the first quarter Sunday against the New England Patriots to break the New York Jets' record for most receptions in a season.

The catch -- his first of the game -- was Marshall's 94th of the season.

Remarkably, Al Toon's record lasted 27 years. He caught 93 passes in 1988, a mark that was challenged only a couple of times. Laveranues Coles came the closest, recording 91 in 2002.
