FOXBORO — The No. 1 jersey was a ceremonious achievement for Patriots first-round draft pick Malcom Brown.
Many years from now, though, Brown wants it to have a deeper meaning. He wants to look back and see that he lived up to his draft-night proclamation that he would be the greatest pick in Patriots history. Obviously, Tom Brady, a handful of Patriots Hall of Famers and a few more three-time Super Bowl champions can make their own cases for that label, but there’s honor in setting the loftiest of goals.
“I just really want to work hard and become the best player I can be,” Brown said.
