FALMOUTH, Maine —
The first-ever Maine "Speedcubing" competition was held Saturday at Falmouth Elementary School, drawing some of the fastest Rubik's Cube-solvers in the country along with local enthusiasts.
Participants competed in several categories, solving different variations of the Rubik's Cube along with the traditional version. The event was organized by "Cube New England," and its president says the comradery between players is the best part of each event.

"People love solving the cube," said Tim Reynolds, the president of Cube New England. "A lot of us are nerds. A lot of us have been doing this for too long and and just find it a lot of fun to test our cubes and hang out with their friends.
