Almost seven months after offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels left the Patriots to become the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, the time to push the panic button arrived in New England on Monday. Or at least it seemed that way based on reports from the Patriots’ training camp.
New England coach Bill Belichick used McDaniels’ departure after 10 seasons as an opportunity to make some changes to the team’s offense heading into quarterback Mac Jones’ second NFL campaign. But reports on the training-camp practices can’t be generating much confidence about the Patriots’ attack for the 2022 season among the team’s fans.
