The Patriots might be without their starting quarterback for an extended period of time.
Mac Jones is believed to have suffered a high ankle sprain, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, who reports “he’ll miss time and potentially head to IR, if the MRI confirms.” If he does head to injured reserve, he’ll miss at least four games. Though initial X-rays came back negative, Jones’ MRI is scheduled for Monday.
The quarterback was crushed by Calais Campbell on the final offensive play of Sunday’s 37-26 loss to the Ravens. He immediately limped off the field without putting any weight on his left foot and was carried to the Patriots locker room; Jones didn’t even stop in the medical tent.
