Mac Jones’ honeymoon phase with his hometown Jaguars came to a crashing end in Buffalo.
The former Patriots QB made his debut in regular-season action with the Jags on Monday night, with Jones entering in the game in place of Trevor Lawrence for the closing minutes of an eventual 47-10 blowout loss to the Bills.
While Lawrence (21-of-38, 178 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) labored throughout the night in Buffalo, Jones didn’t fare much better when pressed into action.
On just his third play of the night, Jones was strip-sacked by Javon Solomon while dropping back to pass — with Buffalo’s Casey Toohill scooping up the ball on the Jaguars’ 21-yard line.
