FOXBOROUGH — Mac Jones is pretty optimistic about his ankle injury.
Though a high ankle sprain usually sidelines players for multiple games, the Patriots quarterback believes he can play against the Lions this weekend, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
“I know Mac Jones is going to try to push to play. I know he believes he can play this Sunday,” Rapoport said. “We’ll see if he’s able to. There was definitely a time last week late in the week when he thought he’d be able to play, too. Did not end up participating in practice.
