The deadline for NFL teams to cut their rosters down to 53 players is Saturday at 4 p.m. As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, teams were only allowed to carry 80 players (instead of the typical 90) throughout training camp, which means there will be fewer cuts than in previous years.
Additionally, players who are released have a better chance of making the practice squad, as teams are permitted to carry 16 players (instead of the usual 10) this year.
