FOXBORO — After Danny Amendola went down with a knee injury in the first half of the Patriots’ 33-16 win Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, Leonard Hankerson trotted onto the field at Gillette Stadium in his place at the wide receiver position.
Amendola has been a part of the Patriots offense for three years. Hankerson had been a member of the team for three days. There was bound to be a learning curve.
Last Tuesday, Hankerson was waived by the Atlanta Falcons. By Wednesday night, he was at Gillette, and Sunday — after only two practices — he was in uniform.
