The Patriots’ wrecking ball amped up his duty today.
Running back LeGarrette Blount participated in 11-on-11 drills at practice for the first time since injuring his right knee Aug. 7. He didn’t miss too much time, as he was running uphill sprints Monday and was a limited participant during Tuesday’s workout before sitting out Thursday’s preseason opener.
Blount needed a few days for the pain to subside, and his long-term importance far outweighed the need for a quick return.
“I’ve got to focus on making sure I’m better and healthy enough to play,” Blount said.
