SAN FRANCISCO — For the first time in his life, Kyle Love wondered if he had lost control of his future.
On the field, the defensive tackle soared from an undrafted free agent in 2010 to a Super Bowl starter with the Patriots in 2011. And personally, he worked diligently to manage his diabetes in order to maintain a balance between his health and playing strength to keep making a living in the NFL, so he was well-accomplished in the art of doing right by himself and his family.
That was until May 2013 when the Patriots cut him with a non-football illness designation after his diabetes diagnosis, and Love was released three more times by the Jaguars and Chiefs before the Panthers signed him in December 2014.
