The Patriots spent the early portion of their team drills working on the run game, setting the tone for a run-heavy and physical practice.
Run-heavy portions of practice have typically been when the defense has fared the best during this training camp, and Monday was no exception as the front seven took care of business.
Other than a short throw from Joe Milton and a play-action rollout that Drake Maye ended up keeping, seven of the Patriots’ first nine plays were runs. Many of the plays ended before getting out of the backfield.
