FOXBORO — Before Sunday night's Patriots-Falcons game at Gillette Stadium, there was a cool scene as Patriots players greeted about 200 military members around the field.
Tom Brady was one of several Patriots to greet the servicemen and women down the sideline. Long snapper Joe Cardona, who is an active duty member of the Navy, had the idea this week of inviting the members of the military to Sunday's game, and many of his Patriots teammates -- including Matthew Slater -- were all on board.
The idea, according to Patriots team president Jonathan Kraft, spawned over the course of the last few weeks.
