FOXBORO -- While nearly every member of the Patriots cleaned out their locker today and made plans to rest or take an extended vacation, long snapper Joe Cardona got ready to return to his primary fulltime job with the United States Navy.
Cardona, who just completed his rookie season, said he’d take a couple days off before returning to duty as an ensign. He’ll first head to Virginia before reporting to the USS Zumwalt DDG-1000 in Maine. The rest of it is basically up in the air.
“I’ll be working fulltime throughout the offseason,” said Cardona, who wore his Navy dress whites to every road game this season.
