Jimmy Garoppolo will make his first return to Gillette Stadium since being traded away in 2017 when the San Francisco 49ers take on the New England Patriots in a Week 7 October matchup.
This is also the first time that the Patriots will be playing against Garoppolo after they selected him in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft before later trading him to the 49ers in 2017.
The Patriots and the 49ers have played each other 13 times since 1971, but in the Bill Belichick coaching era in New England, the Patriots only have a 1-3 overall record against the 49ers.
