FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -- The New York Jets have waived/injured tight end Zach Sudfeld with a knee injury, and signed veteran tight end Steve Maneri.
Sudfeld tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during minicamp practice last Wednesday. He was helped off the field after he went down when safety Calvin Pryor hit him in the shoulder during drills.
Sudfeld had just seven catches for 85 yards last season, but made his mark on special teams with a team-high 20 kick-coverage tackles. He was claimed off waivers from New England in 2013.
