The New England Patriots have plenty of cap space to build an elite team for Mike Vrabel. They could poach a star from the New York Jets this offseason.
The Patriots have a league-high $125 million in projected cap space. D.J. Reed is a free agent after three seasons with the Jets. FanSided's Wynston Wilcox called him a "dream" free agent target for the Patriots.
"The Patriots already have a young cornerback in Christian Gonzalez, but the veteran experience of D.J. Reed could bolster their secondary. Reed was one of the top defensive backs, despite playing on an underperforming New York Jets defense," wrote Wilcox.
