Prior to the New England Patriots defeating the Chicago Bears 19-3 on Sunday at Soldier Field, Jerod Mayo's team added some help for their front seven by claiming defensive end Yannick Ngakoue.
Ngakoue, 29, played collegiately at Maryland before the Jacksonville Jaguars selected him in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft. After four seasons with the Jaguars, where he made one Pro Bowl, he's spent time with the Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens, Las Vegas Raiders, Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears since 2020.
On Monday, Mayo spoke with the local media about their victory over Chicago, but the first question he was asked was regarding Ngakoue and why the Patriots claimed him.
