If the season started today, New England Patriots coach Jerod Mayo is completely confident in rookie quarterback Drake Maye to run the offense.
Jacoby Brissett is currently the No. 1 quarterback, but Maye has closed the gap on the veteran. According to Mayo, the team expects to make a decision on their starting quarterback as soon as Monday night.
Maye's confidence has grown over the last two preseason games. He has gone 8-of-14 for 66 yards in both outings combined. He has also added a rushing touchdown to his total in last week's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
