New England Patriots coach Jerod Mayo confirmed on Monday that quarterback Jacoby Brissett would remain the starter, following the team’s 30-13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
He also addressed the outside frustrations from fans wanting to see rookie Drake Maye take the reins.
Maye got a brief taste of NFL action late in the fourth quarter against the New York Jets in Week 3. He went 4-of-8 passing for 22 yards in the team’s 24-3 loss. Calls for Maye to start have become increasingly louder from Patriots fans, as the team has slid to 1-3 on the season.
